Jamrock Music Academy offers two options to new students.
- One option is for the new Jamrock student is informal tuition at the student’s pace, allowing the student to develop his/her love of music and become familiar with his/her instrument.
- The other option for the Jamrock student is to follow a more formal approach and take the official Rockschool of London graded Exams. These exams are internationally accredited.

REGISTRATION FEE
- ONCE OFF: Registration and Administration Fee: R295.00 (once–off enrolment fee)
TUITION FEES
- Term fee – R2640 (a term is 3 months as per school term)
- OR
- Monthly fee – R820 (this is the term fee paid in 3 monthly instalments)

Tuition Options
Guitar tuition
We cater for students at all levels of proficiency from the total beginner to the gigging musician up to advanced guitar players. You will learn all the fundamentals of guitar playing whether you play acoustic or electric guitar. Students get to learn songs from all era’s up to the very latest releases and may even request songs they want to play.
All our students get regular opportunities to showcase their skills with regular performances and shows on stage with professional sound and lighting.
Age 8+
Drum tuition
We cover the full spectrum of drumming tuition from beginner to advanced level. All our lessons are linked to popular songs that serve as examples & application. You will learn how to play various styles of music both by reading charts as well as improvising. Application of the basic rudiments of drumming is the foundation.
Drum students get the opportunity to perform in the end of term concert showcases either by way of solo performances or as part of a band.
Age 6+
Vocal tuition
Our vocal training facility will teach you a full range of topics including vocal technique, vocal style, performance skills, music theory, stage presence, as well as how to look after the most important instrument you will ever have: your voice.
You will learn all about backing vocals as well as solos and we will help you to discover the right songs for your voice. We have many opportunities at Jamrock for you to perform and to experience live performance firsthand.
Age 8+
Piano/Keyboard tuition
Piano or keyboard tuition is offered as one of the easiest instruments to learn and we often advise parents of younger children to start with piano/keyboard in order for children to learn basic music theory along with the practical experience of learning an instrument.
Our keyboard department offers many opportunities to learn modern songs, develop skill and train young musicians in the art of music.
Age 6+
Bass Guitar tuition
Our bass guitar tuition is offered from beginner’s level to advanced. You will learn how to play along with popular, modern songs as well as learning scales and the basics of rhythm and timekeeping.
Age 8+
Ukulele tuition
This amazing instrument has taken the world by storm and for what reason? It has made a comeback in modern music and become immensely popular and so much fun to play. It is also the perfect instrument for the young aspiring beginner who eventually would like to play guitar, but is too young.
